New for March 2009! The
IIT are semi-independents schools that provide undergraduate and
graduate degrees. the first was founded in 1950 in Bombay. Combined
IIT admission is quite competitive, only 5,500 students are accepted
each year from 300,000 applicants!
There are eight fully established
IIT, with more in the works to bring the number to 16. Wikipedia
has more info on this.
There are a lot of great lectures
on microwave topics (and much more) loaded on Youtube. The National
Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) which is a joint
venture between the IIT and the Indian Institute of Science.
