Drones carrying bombs are a real problem for the military. A lot of money is going to be spent to detect and defeat them. What about your neighbor's annoying drone? has anyone experimented with RF jamming? You can pay up to $10K for a jamming system. www.jammer-store.com/drone-jammers.html
Not sure any of this is legal... so don't get in trouble on my account

I think the gentleman in the news earlier this year from Kentucky with a 12 gauge shotgun had the most effective low-cost anti-drone solution.

It bothers me a little that they don't seem to understand the systems they're jamming, and preying on the fears of the mis-informed in the process.

Case in point: according to their website, "GPS is the frequency range that is used by navigational satellites to track the location of land, water and air vehicles which have GPS tracking device installed onboard." I'm pretty sure those satellites aren't tracking anything.

Can't speak for the FCC or European regulators, but here in the antipodes the ACMA would definitely have a problem with people using this.

At least one government agency, the FAA, has seriously frowned on jamming GPS particularly near airports.

Interestingly, GPS jammers are easy to build (or at least obtain) -- just google it. There are schematics out there on the net..

I'd be willing to bet that other government agencies would frown on it as well.

Pursuing other less generally disruptive avenues, some organizations have found ways to take out smaller drones with nature's best predator of the sky...

Of course, then there's other countermeasures that have been developed that are either electronic (as Steve mentioned) or gas powered (nets fired from gun-style devices)

Oh, no doubt at all it's easy for someone who knows how to use Google and a soldering iron to build a GPS jammer, even if only by accident. I recall a lecturer once talking about a VHF/UHF system that had some particularly bad harmonics which were jamming the GPS receivers in a harbour.

I just like it when people selling stuff actually know what they're talking about.
